Regulations on the Academic Council of the Institute

• development of new scientific areas of soil science, agrochemistry and soil protection;
• scientific provision of rational use of land resources, improvement of soil fertility and health, preservation of soil ecological functions;
• scientific substantiation of national and state programs, concepts, forecasts, improvement of the legislative and regulatory framework in the field of soil science, agrochemistry and soil protection;
• performing fundamental, applied and exploratory research within the framework of programs of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and other customers of scientific products;
• scientific-methodical, standardization and metrological support in the field of soil science and agrochemistry: implementation of the functions of the technical standardization committee on soil science, agrochemistry and soil protection (TC 142 "Soil Science") and the functions of the Center for the State Service of Standard Soil Samples (Centre of Soil Sampling);
• development of modern agricultural technologies, new types of fertilizers and meliorants for the reproduction and increase of soil fertility;
• coordination of research on soil science, agrochemistry and soil protection - the main institution of the Scientific and Methodological Center "Soil Science, Agrochemistry and Soil Protection" and the coordinator of scientific research programs of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences;
• participation in international programs and projects, coordination and representation of Ukraine in the FAO Global Soil Partnership and other international organizations and initiatives in the field of sustainable use of soil resources;
• training of higher education applicants for the degree of PhD in specialties 201 Agronomy (field of knowledge 20 Agrarian sciences and food) and 091 Biology and biochemistry (field of knowledge 09 Biology); training of Doctors of Sciences in specialty 201 Agronomy (field of knowledge 20 Agrarian sciences and food);
• development of new methods of surveying the soil cover, obtaining and processing soil information, creating modern soil and geoinformation systems for the purpose of improving state diagnostics, assessment and classification of soils, functioning of the Ukrainian Soil Information Center;
• adaptation of innovative technologies of protection and increase of soil fertility to soil and climatic conditions of different regions; approval and implementation of scientific developments in the research network of the Institute, other scientific institutions of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, organizations and enterprises of various forms of ownership;
• popularization of scientific knowledge about soils in society.
