Other activities of the Department

  • Preparation and publication of the Interdepartmental thematic scientific collection "Agrochemistry and soil science" (ISSN 0587-2596; e-ISSN 2616-6852 doi.org/10.31073/acss ). The collection was founded by the Institute in 1966 (certificate of state registration КВ No. 20942-10742Pr) for the publication of scientific articles based on the results of theoretical, experimental and methodical research in the current areas of soil science, agrochemistry, agroecology, agriculture and other sciences. According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 28.12.2019 No. 1643, the collection was included in the List of scientific specialized publications of Ukraine in the fields of agricultural and biological sciences in the specialties 201 Agronomy and 091 Biology and included in Group "B". Since its inception, the total number of issues is 94; starting from 2013, full texts of articles are published on the Website - http://agrochemsoilsci.org/ .
  • Organization of the work of the scientific library of the Institute. The library was founded in 1956 and today its stock includes about 80,000 copies of special scientific, technical and reference literature on all aspects of soil science and agrochemistry, as well as related sciences - geology, hydrology, geomorphology, biochemistry, agroecology, microbiology, plant physiology and others. The foundation of the library fund is the fundamental works of the founders of soil science and agrochemistry: V.V. Dokuchaev, D.M. Pryanishnikov, V.R. Williams, O.N. Sokolovsky, others. The library has a unique fund of rare editions brought from the private collections of Academician O.N. Sokolovsky, professors M.K. Krupsky, O.M. Mozheyko, O.M. Grinchenko, famous scientists H.S. Hryn, V.D. Kysil, O.O. Kireev. The collection of periodicals (26,200 copies) from the beginning of the last century to the present is exceptionally valuable. The library has a significant fund of encyclopedic publications. Since 2013, the library fund has been entered into the electronic catalog "IRBIS", its own databases (catalogs) are being formed: books, magazine articles, scientific works of the Institute's employees, abstracts and dissertations, reports, etc. The library supports international book exchange relations.
  • In 2017, on the basis of the scientific library of the Institute, an electronic information-bibliometric database (DB) of published (since 1961) works of the Institute's employees was created, which is a collection of organized information and a modern means of bibliometric monitoring - the accumulation and systematization of bibliometric data with the aim of using them for evaluation of publication activity and scientific productivity of both individual scientists and units (laboratories or departments) of the Institute. The information-bibliometric database is also an autonomous block of the Soil Information System created at the Institute to support the activities of the Ukrainian Soil Information Center. Within this function, the database is a source of multifaceted information about soils and the state of development of scientific and practical problems and achievements of soil science in Ukraine, highlighted in the publications of the staff of the NSC ISSAR.
  • System administration of the Institute's local network.
