Mission of the National Scientific Center "Institute for Soil Science and Agrochemistry Research named after O.N. Sokolovsky"

The mission of the NSC ISSAR is to provide scientific support for the sustainable development of soil resources of Ukraine, reproduction of soil fertility, preservation of soil health, and maintenance of soil ecological and productive functions.

The mission of the NSC ISSAR is related to the implementation of the direction "Conservation, balanced use and sustainable management of soil resources of Ukraine, their protection from degradation" as a component of thematic direction 15 of sustainable development of Ukraine "Protection and restoration of land ecosystems and promotion of their rational use, rational forest use, fight against desertification, stopping and reversing (reversal) the process of land degradation and stopping the process of biodiversity loss" in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated September 30, 2019 No. 722/2019 "On the goals of sustainable development of Ukraine for the period until 2030".

Activities of the NSC ISSAR is aimed at objectively highlighting the current state of soil resources of Ukraine, substantiating the need for their protection at all levels of social organization, spreading scientific knowledge about soils and their sustainable use in accordance with national conditions and needs.
